GreenHorse Books accepts unsolicited book proposals. Please see our submission guidelines at the bottom of this page for all required information.
Please note that GreenHorse books respects the beauty, individuality, and authenticity of human-created art. This means that we only publish 100% human-created work and will not consider content that relies on generative AI.
In return, GreenHorse extends the same courtesy: we will never utilize AI artwork or rely on generative AI in the book production process. Working with GreenHorse means knowing your work will be lovingly brought to life by real life, equine-savvy human beings who care about your project as much as you do.

Submission Guidelines:
We are a small, women-owned company passionate about creating a better world for horses and the people who love and care for them. Send us your best (generative AI-free) fiction and non-fiction that also works toward that goal.
Essay collection? Yes, please.
Character-driven equine fiction? Break our hearts.
Guides and manuals that serve the horse world? Absolutely this, all of this.
Creative nonfiction and investigative storytelling? Don’t make us beg.
We’re looking for practical, progressive, innovative horsemanship solutions and stories from the barn to the back forty. Make our day and send us beautiful ideas from your corner of the horse world.
Guidelines:
Email submissions to info@greenhorsebooks.com, with the subject line as “Submission—<insert book genre> <insert author name>”.
For example, “Submission—Fiction (romance)—Jane Doe”.
Please include any trigger warnings that your manuscript may include. We don’t believe in spoilers around here, so spoil away. We are very unlikely to publish stories that contain excessive violence toward humans or animals.
At this time, we are not accepting children’s books or picture books.
Again, seriously, no AI.
We are a small but mighty team, doing our best to sort through the many submissions we receive. Please allow 4-6 weeks for consideration.
